Wellbeing is about more than health. Likewise, health is about more than physiology.

With over 25 years' experience as a hospital doctor, and many more in practising living, I've learned that the way we live, our values, and our relationships shape outcomes, resilience and recovery in ways that medicine alone cannot address.

After decades on the frontline, I wanted to work differently, more upstream, more whole-person, more preventive. I draw on extensive NHS experience, alongside a background in psychology and a long-standing interest in mindfulness and the philosophical dimensions of wellbeing. My approach is grounded in evidence, compassion and practicality, helping people make informed changes that support lasting health and fulfilment.

Alongside clinical work, I am developing a coaching practice focused on sustainable improvements in health and wellbeing, and am beginning to offer educational sessions for healthcare professionals and community groups. I focus on realistic strategies for behaviour change and on bringing a more holistic, values-driven approach into everyday life.

I'm always happy to connect with others who share an interest in improving wellbeing in modern healthcare and society – particularly those who believe we need to think more upstream.
